Universal Lighting Beacons

Beacons are the amber, blue and green warning lamps fitted to agricultural vehicles, plant, recovery trucks and works vehicles. Agri Lighting stocks LED, rotating halogen and xenon beacons in 12V and 24V, plus the mounts, poles, lenses and spare motors that keep older beacons running. Amber is the colour for agricultural and slow-moving vehicles on UK roads.

Types of beacon

An LED beacon flashes without moving parts, draws under 1A and lasts 30,000 hours or more. A rotating halogen beacon spins a reflector around an H1 bulb and is the direct replacement on older tractors and plant. A xenon strobe beacon gives the sharpest flash for high-visibility applications. All three fit the standard three-point, single-bolt, pole (DIN) and magnetic mounts.

Beacon colours and the law

Amber beacons mark slow or wide agricultural vehicles, breakdown trucks and road maintenance vehicles. Green beacons are used by doctors on call and blue by the emergency services. Road-legal beacons carry ECE R65 approval, listed on the product page.
