Types of abrasive and welding consumable in this range
Abrasive Discs covers thin cutting discs, grinding discs and flap discs for 115mm, 125mm and 230mm grinders. Coated Abrasives covers emery cloth, sandpaper sheets, rolls and sanding discs from 40 to 400 grit. Wire Wheels and Brushes covers cup brushes, wheel brushes and hand wire brushes for rust and paint removal. Rotary Burrs covers tungsten carbide burrs for die grinders. Files covers flat, half-round and round engineers' files. Welding and Soldering covers MIG wire, welding rods, flux, solder and tips. Welding Protection covers welding gloves, helmets and spatter spray. Gas and Heating covers gas torches and cartridges.
Choosing abrasive discs
Use a 1mm thin disc for cutting steel section and a 6mm disc for grinding welds; a flap disc blends a weld and dresses the surface in one pass. Check the disc diameter and bore match the grinder (22.23mm bore on 115mm and 125mm grinders) and that the maximum speed marked on the disc is above the grinder's rated speed. A wire cup brush is the quickest way to clean a corroded lamp bracket before repainting. Paints and primers are under grease and chemicals, and eye and hearing protection under hygiene and safety.
