Tractor light types: beacons, work lights, headlights and rear lamps
Tractor light types are the categories of lamp fitted to a tractor, trailer or implement, each with its own job, colour, approval mark and position on the machine. This section holds 41 guides, one for each type: amber beacons and light bars, LED and halogen work lights, headlights, rear and tail lamps, marker and position lamps, indicators, number plate lamps and cab lights.

The main tractor light types
Warning beacons are amber lamps that mark a slow vehicle on the road, and UK law requires one on any vehicle limited to 25mph when it uses an unrestricted dual carriageway. Work lights flood the field, hitch and yard with light and are not for road use. Headlights carry dipped and main beam with an ECE approval mark. Rear lamps combine tail, brake, indicator and fog functions in one unit. Marker lamps show white to the front, amber to the side and red to the rear on wide and long vehicles. Each guide in this section defines the type, sets out the law, and compares the LED, halogen and xenon options.
Choosing between light types
The choice between a beacon and a light bar, or a work light and a driving lamp, depends on where the light is needed and whether the vehicle is on the road. The guides give the numbers behind each choice: lumens, beam angle, current draw and IP rating. The matching products are in tractor lighting, filtered by type, voltage and make.
