24V tractor beacons

A 24V tractor beacon is an amber warning lamp rated for the 24 volt electrical system used on larger tractors, telehandlers, self-propelled sprayers, forage harvesters and lorries. Fitting a 12V beacon to a 24V system burns out the bulb or the LED driver within seconds, so voltage is the first check before buying. Which machines run 24V beacons

Some large tractors and self-propelled harvesters, certain telehandlers and every HGV run 24V systems; the voltage is printed on the battery and in the operator's manual. Trailers and implements towed behind a 24V tractor also receive 24V through the seven-pin or ISO connector, so beacons on bale trailers and low loaders behind these machines need 24V units too. A 24V halogen rotating beacon uses an H1 24V 70W bulb, not the 12V 55W bulb, and the two are not interchangeable. A multivolt 12/24V LED beacon accepts either supply and suits a contractor moving one beacon between mixed fleets; these appear in the LED tractor beacons range.

Mounts and approvals for 24V tractor beacons

24V beacons use the same mounts as 12V: a DIN A pole for cab roofs with a beacon socket, a three-bolt flange for a fixed roof or bracket, and a single M12 bolt for guards and mirror arms. Road use in the UK requires an amber beacon with ECE R65 approval, shown on every product page in this range.
