Self Tapping Screws
Self-tapping screws cut their own thread into sheet steel and plastic, and self-drilling tek screws drill and tap in one go. They fix cab panels, mudguards, trim, number plates and lamp brackets to sheet metal. The range holds John Deere part-number tapping screws with fitment and general packs by size.
Choosing a self-tapping screw
Match the diameter (No. 8, No. 10, M4.8, M6.3) and the length to the panel thickness, and pick a hexagon flanged head for a socket driver or a pan head for a screwdriver. Use a tek screw for steel over 1mm where a pilot hole is not practical. Panel clips and rivets for the same jobs are under pins, clips and rivets.
