Cutting and Drilling
Cutting and drilling covers drill bits, hole saws, hacksaw blades, knives, scrapers, taps and dies for working steel, aluminium and plastic on tractors, trailers and farm buildings. Fitting a new work light or beacon usually starts here: a hole saw for a cab roof grommet, an HSS bit for a bracket bolt, and a tap to clean a rusted thread.

Hacksaws and Blades covers hacksaw frames, blades from 18 to 32 TPI and junior hacksaws. Knives and Scrapers covers retractable and snap-off knives, blades and gasket scrapers. Taps and Dies covers metric and imperial taps, dies and tap wrenches for cutting and cleaning threads. Cutting Tools covers tin snips, bolt croppers and cable cutters.
Choosing drill bits and hole saws
Use HSS bits for mild steel and cobalt bits for stainless, hardened or high-tensile steel such as tractor chassis brackets. A step drill gives a clean hole in thin panels and cab roofs without grabbing. For a standard 20mm cable grommet use a 20mm hole saw or step drill; a 7-pin trailer socket needs a 42mm hole. Taps clean a thread that has been rusted or cross-threaded, and a die restores a damaged bolt end. Abrasives for finishing the cut edge are under welding, gas and abrasives, and the lamps and grommets to fit are under tractor lighting.
