Choosing a 24V horn or reversing alarm

A 12V horn on a 24V feed fails quickly, so match the voltage first. Trumpet horns give the loudest and lowest note for a lorry or large tractor on the road; disc horns are smaller and fit behind a grille. A reversing alarm on a telehandler or loader is expected on any site with pedestrians, and the 107dB units suit open yards while self-adjusting units suit sites near housing. For 12 volt tractors see the 12V horns and alarms page. All horns and alarms are listed with voltage and output.
