Socket Screws

Socket screws are the fasteners driven with a hex or Torx key: socket head cap screws, button head and countersunk socket screws, shoulder screws and grub screws. They sit where a spanner will not reach or a low head is needed, such as LED work light brackets, cab trim and hydraulic blocks. The range holds John Deere part-number socket screws with fitment, plus general metric and imperial sizes in grade 12.9.

Choosing a socket screw

Match the thread, the length and the head: cap head for strength, button head for a smooth finish, countersunk for a flush fixing, grub screw for locking a collar or pulley to a shaft. Hex keys to drive them are under hand tools, and set screws with a hexagon head under set screws.
