Sealants and adhesives cover the silicone sealants, gasket makers, thread lockers, epoxies, contact adhesives and workshop tapes used to seal, bond and lock parts on tractors and trailers. A lamp repair often needs one of them: silicone to reseal a lamp lens, thread lock on a beacon bracket bolt, self-amalgamating tape over a cable joint, or an epoxy to fix a cracked housing until the replacement arrives.

Types of sealant and adhesive in this range
Sealants covers RTV silicone in clear, black and grey, gasket-making silicone rated to engine temperature, exhaust sealant and thread lock in low, medium and high strength. Adhesives and Epoxies covers two-part epoxies, contact adhesive, cyanoacrylate super glue and metal repair putties. Adhesive Tapes covers insulating tape, self-amalgamating tape, duct tape, double-sided tape and masking tape. Exhaust Repair covers exhaust paste, bandage and clamps.
Choosing a sealant or adhesive
Match the product to the job: a medium-strength thread lock (blue) holds a bolt that a spanner still needs to shift; a high-strength lock (red) is for studs that stay put. Use a neutral-cure silicone on lamp lenses and electrical housings, because acetic-cure silicone corrodes terminals. Self-amalgamating tape seals a cable joint against water where insulating tape does not.
