13-pin trailer plugs and sockets

A 13-pin trailer plug and socket carries lighting, reverse lamp and a permanent power feed in one connector, and it is the standard fitting on newer trailers, caravans and pickups. This page lists the 13-pin units in the range: 12V Euro plugs and sockets, 13-pin to 7-pin adaptors for older trailers, coiled 13-core cables and pre-wired cable sets.

Choosing a 13-pin plug or socket

Use a 13-pin socket where the trailer or lighting board has a 13-pin plug, and a 7-pin to 13-pin adaptor to tow a 7-pin trailer from a 13-pin socket. A 13-pin socket needs the same 42mm hole or bracket as a 7-pin unit, and its permanent feed should be fused at the battery. For 7-pin agricultural trailers use the 7-pin plugs and sockets page. All plugs, sockets and connectors are listed with pin count and voltage, and the lamps they feed are under tractor lighting.
