12V flasher units

A 12V flasher unit is the relay that flashes the indicators and hazard lights on a 12 volt tractor, trailer or pickup at the legal 60 to 120 flashes per minute. This page lists the 12V units in the range: electronic flasher units with a constant rate, thermal flasher units for bulb indicators, load-independent units for LED indicators and heavy duty units rated for tractor plus trailer, with 2-pin, 3-pin and 4-pin connectors.

Choosing a 12V flasher unit

Count the indicator bulbs on tractor and trailer together and match the unit: a 2+2 unit for a tractor alone, a 4+2 or 6+2 unit with a trailer pilot lamp when towing. Fit a load-independent electronic unit when indicators are changed to LED, because LED lamps draw too little current for a thermal unit and it hyperflashes. Match the pin count on the old unit and check the terminal markings (49, 49a, 31, C2) on the product page. For 24 volt machines use the 24V flasher units page.
