Halogen tractor headlights
A halogen tractor headlight is a headlamp that produces dipped and main beam from an H4 halogen bulb, or from separate H7 and H1 bulbs, behind a glass or polycarbonate lens. Halogen headlamps were the standard fitting on tractors built between 1985 and 2020, so a halogen replacement keeps the original wiring, plug and beam pattern. Halogen tractor headlight bulb types
The H4 bulb is the common fitting on tractor headlights: a twin-filament 60/55W bulb that provides main and dipped beam from one lamp. H7 55W bulbs serve dipped beam in twin-lamp designs, with an H1 55W bulb for main beam. 24V tractors use 75/70W H4 bulbs and 70W H7 bulbs, which are not interchangeable with the 12V versions. Replacement bulbs for every headlight on this page are stocked, and a bulb swap fixes most headlight faults without replacing the lamp. A cracked lens, a corroded reflector or a broken adjuster means a complete unit, and each product page lists the tractor models the unit fits.
Halogen or LED headlights for a tractor
A halogen headlight costs less to buy and fits without any wiring change, which suits a tractor that does limited road work after dark. An LED headlight draws a third of the current, lasts ten times longer and lights the road further ahead, which suits a machine used for winter feeding, ploughing at night or road haulage; the LED tractor headlights page lists plug-in replacements for the same apertures.
