Set Screws

A set screw is a hexagon head screw threaded along its full length, the most common fastener on tractor panels, brackets, guards and lamp mounts. The range holds John Deere part-number set screws and flanged screws with fitment, plus general metric and imperial set screws in grades 8.8 and 10.9.

Choosing a set screw

Match the thread (M6 to M20, or imperial UNC and UNF), the length and the grade. Grade 8.8 suits brackets, guards and lamp mounts; grade 10.9 is for fixings marked 10.9 on the original, such as wheel and axle parts. Flanged set screws spread the load without a washer. A partly threaded fastener with a plain shank is a bolt, listed under bolts and studding. Nuts to match are under nuts.
